Day 136- No Fun

so i have tried a lil experiment this week because the protein bars i was eating angela says had too much sugar in them. i explained to her that the ones she wants me to eat make me nauseous because of the texture and i am not a fan of wafer cookies since i was a kid! so i have been doing the protein shakes..... it is just not as satisfying. i am not sure what to do.

they have 5g sugar and 13g protein

trying to find a bar that is #1 in my budget range #2 in the sugar & protein range angela wants is gonna be hard. i am not feeling satisfied right now. i looked forward to having those bars. :(

Day 135- The Bloat

i am still really bloaty from my womanly time of the month going ape sh** on me. i am down 2.. almost 3 lbs from what i was at the beginning of the week, but and still feeling and looking puffy. i am not liking this at all!

the show that i am bra modeling for is in a lil more than a week. i hope my body is at peace with it's self by then.

several times today there were friends and co-workers (all female) who said i am lookin really skinny! (girl talk for- you look good!!!) although i started my not so monthly this weekend so i feel super cramp and bloaty.

Day 132- No Dancing

for the first time in several months did not go out dancing with my friends Saturday nite. i decided to hang at home with my huny. the plan was to catch up on TV shows that we have DVR'd , but instead we ended up watching Dante's Peak, which was filmed about an hour or so ouside of spokane in a cute lil town off of I-90 called Wallace. my huny was suppose to be an extra in the movie, but because of his work schedule had to bow out. it is funny seeing all the placs in the movie and saying.... hey i have been there, and ..... hey! that is not there (ex. the mountain called Dante's peak does not exist!)

about 9pm i was getting sleepy, so i headed upstairs to watch tv hoping my huny would follow. he didn't until about 10:30 and i had fallen asleep by then. i slept until 8 am!!! almost 11 hours!!! that is unheard of for me!!!! i am usually a 6-7 hr sleeper. guess i needed it.

now it is time to do some sunday crafting (bra for P&P show) make more purses and post purses i have made on my etsy page!!!!!

Day 131- Still Frustrated

i feel tired, crampy, bloaty, irritated, wanna eat everything. trying not to let it get to me. if i didn't know better i would think i was pregnant...... but as i have mentioned in a blog a couple months ago that is impossible! (my huny is fixed)

went to sushi buffet tonight. instead of me going for EVERYTHING like my huny did, i stuck to my 15 or so pieces of "clean" sushi (no sauces or tempura), veges with no dressing and fresh fruit. sure i wanted the other things, but i didn't even bother looking in their direction. tried some cold shrimp and crab too.... but the crab was very salt, so i gave it to my huny and he gladly ate it all! he said it was salty too. he also said dungeness can be like that. he had some rock crab as well.... it was steamed. i was trying to avoid the salt. lol.

after all that and 2 glasses of lemon water i was not full, but just right. semi satisfied. as my huny just kept going for more :( it's ok..... i am use to it and just occupy myself with other things like facebook on my phone, and taking pics of him filling his face. lol!

Day 130- Recipe Friday: Crustless Apple Pie

one of my faves this tome of year!!!

1 apple cut up into bite size pieces
pinch or 2 of cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice
a pinch or 2 of splenda or stevia

microwave foe 1-2 mins (depending how crunchy or soft you like your apple)
let cool a lil, stir and enjoy!!!

Day 129- Eventually Winning

I really hate feeling this way. not knowing if it really something i am doing or my body just reacting badly. i have been stressed out enough lately to have this added to the mix. 

the cravings have set in. i know it is not me, but hormones wanting all the stuff i don't want. the only thing i will let myself have is diet soda but that is only if i have drank almost all my water. it has been a very tough couple weeks...... but i am just gonna keep on trucking thru the gains and the losses because i know eventually the losses will eventually win.

Day 128- Back and Forth

my wight lately has been back and forth on the same 4-5 lbs.  185-190. i attribute it to female issues. i have been on and off depo (the shot birth control) for several years and i am thinking that my body chemistry has change and is not agreeing with the depo anymore, because i have never had these symptoms for this long. by symptoms i mean all the things that go along with a normal period- irritability, cramping, fatigue, weight gain, etc.

it is really frustrating. i had finally got to 185 and now it is gone again, and i am not doing anything different that i have been doing for the last 4 months. :(

Day 127- So Good, Yet Sooooo Bad!!!

i was rushing all over town after work because all the places i wanted to go close at 6pm and i don't get off work till 5pm. While on my way home with my treasures i got stopped at a stop light by McDonald's. i could smell the grease that the chicken nuggets and fries are cooked in. i had a brief moment of euphoria remembering how they use to taste and how they mad me feel all happy and warm inside. but then reality set in and i remembered how gross i always felt after and the guilt that went along with eating them.

Nope...... don't want them and probably never will again.


i can make my own and healthier too!!!!

Day 126 & Week 19 results

lost 4 lbs this weekend. have been waiting a couple weeks for it to come off. i knew what was halting it and that it would come off all at once.... it is so nice when it does. i love seeing the scale. it was a bit of a shock this time. 2 lbs saturday and 2 lbs on sunday!!! 55 lbs down!!! Nice!!!

Day 125- The Struggle

i have been struggling a lot lately with being everything to everyone. i want to do so much, but there is not enough time or money for me to do it all. something has to give. figuring out what is the tough part. about 6 more weeks and i am guessing things will slow down a lil for me. but until then gotta keep truckin.

I am glad i have a good support system- my huny, Angela, my P& P friends, FB friends......

Day 124- Nothing Like Last Minute!

I have been working on a bra design for a while for a charity event that is the first friday in october that i am also modeling for. i turned that one in on friday... a pin-up sailor theme with tear away overlay cup. gotta put a lil burlesque in it!

I got word on friday afternoon that they needed another bra last minute because one of the designers had to bail and a model did not have a bra to show. so i said i would do it and have it done by monday. did not get the OK and go ahead to do so till mid afternoon today. So i rushed to get ready because i already had plans to go to a networking party and fashion show before going out dancing with friends. so i rushed to JCP and found a beige tone bra on clearance then headed to the local Dollar store to stock up on candy to glue to a bra. i scored big time!!!

once i got home from all my events, Cade(my step son) helped me decide where things should go and i began to glue. after all was done, i decided to lock everything down by taking clear thread and sewing each piece into place as an extra per cation! and it worked!!!

i would post the pic now...... but i want it to be a surprise. i will say that it is EPIC!!!!

not once did i want to eat the candy, although the candy corns were calling my name...but i just said NO!!!

Day 123- Recipe Friday: Rice

i didn't know that there is a right and a wrong way to cook rice. here is how my huny does it, and it turns out delish every time!!!

it starts with rinsing it 3x.

put the rice in a sauce pan, add water, swish it around then use the top of the pot to drain the water. do this 2 more times. 2 to 1 ratio for water to rice. we usually do 2 cups rice and 2 cups water.

after you have rinsed the rice and put in 4 more cups of water to cook with, put the pan on a cold burner on the stove. add a tablespoon of butter, margarine or olive oil so that the rice does not stick.

once on the cold burner, put on medium heat and stir every 5 minutes till it comes to a light boil. turn the heat down to #1 setting and set timer for 25 minutes.

after it is done, remove from heat, put in sealed container and store in fridge.

Day 122- Da Butt

I went to my Chiropractor yesterday because my neck and shoulder blades have been bothering me. pop, pop, fixed that. then i mentioned to him about my bursitis in my left hip that hurts my butt and down into my leg. he pushed on a couple places, asked if it hurt.... and of course it did. then he adjusted my hips which have been out of whack for about a week. he said that i need to have my husband message my thighs because the muscle fibers in my legs are being affected bu the inflammation and that this was the only way to combat this issue, along with stretching, heat, ice and IB profin.

So that is what i did this morning. i did my work out then i stretched for 5 mins, a minute each side and it seems to really be helping. i am really happy about that because i did not want steroid injections.... they scare me.

Day 121- Contemplating Change

Lately i have been disillusioned with my job. i like my job except for the fact that everything gets blamed on my group whether we did it or not, we are the bottom of the "food chain" even though we schedule for what everyone else in the co. does, not very appreciated,  and for a while now certain people in my group have been doing less and getting away with it while others, like me, are doing more and getting burnt out.

So i have been looking at my options, and in this economy there aren't many. don't get me wrong.... i am happy to have a stable job, but i want more! i wanna be happy to go to my job, not just settling because it is good enough.

Fields i have thought about going into- radio (dream job!), working in a smaller office like i did when i was interning, do more for my re-purposing business, modeling (but that won't pay the bills in spokane) and ...... dunno what else yet.

need to make enough to pay the bills.... that is a must. my huny cannot support the both of us. other than that i dunno.

Day 120- The 1 gallon Challenge

so i have been challenges to drink 1 gallon of water a day. i have been doing a 1/2 gallon somewhat easily, so i gallon didn't seem like that big of a deal other than the millions of times i would need to make a ladies room stop.

so i did it.... day 1 of 1 gallon challenge. a bathroom break every hour but i did it.

on to day 2..... we will see how this goes. i wonder how long it will take for my body to get use to it?

i have been feeling kind bloaty lately. i am pinning it on womanly issues and inflammation in my hip because i have not had added salt in a very very long time. for some reason angela wanted to take my pics this week against the doors...... hummmm.

Day 118- Everything Hurts

I dunno why, but everything hurts today. my hip with the bursitis started hurting Wednesday/Thursday and has progressivly gotten worse to the point of where i had to break out the heating pad. my calves kill from all the jumping up and down in and out of bubbles at the foam party, but i have no idea why my shoulder and neck ache. is is about that time of the month...... maybe that had something to do with it?

work out tomorrow is gonna suck if my body doesn't stop aching.

Day 118- Circus and Foam

Today the Burlesques group i am in (Pasties & Paddles) had a Circus themed photo shoot for out promotional posters. i spent about 2 hrs prepping my costume and finalizing details and 1 1/2 hrs doing hair and make-up. here is the end results


Later that nite was The Foam Party @ the Spotlight. OMG!!! if there is ever one in your town, you have to go!!!! it was sooo much fun!!! think- dancing and having fun in a giant bubble bath!!!

Day 117- Recipe Friday: Fruit Smoothie

My huny loves to make me fruit smoothies, especially since we got a Ninja blender for our wedding anniversary from my huny's dad. it is awesome!!! i highly recommended :)

any fruit- strawberries, banana, pineapple, mango, watermelon, etc.
Ice
water

cut up fruit, add it all in, blend and enjoy! it is very refreshing!!!

Whatever you don't use you can freeze in ice cube trays and use as your ice cubes next time or freeze and seat like Popsicles.

Day 116- Another Difficult day

then went into work still feeling very defeated, but got thru the day. then it was on to things a lil more fun, but tedious..... costume making @ friends house. she has been doing this for a while, so she was teaching me to take a piece of lace, which is flat, and fit it on my bodice, which is not. i think we did pretty good so far.

Day 115- The Breakdown

Today was a really tough day for me. had to be to work early for a meeting that solve some issues.issues did not get solved because the blame was given to everyone, even though 2 people are causing the issues....me not being one of them. so i am starting to actively look for a new job. does not look promising right know, but i am optimistic.

after a LOOOONG exhausting and difficult day, worked out for a lil. thought it would help, but it didn't. went to the store to get a few things then headed home to get a bite to eat before my Burlesque meeting for the show we have in October. everyone went thru their characters parts. found out that my characters duties have changed, which i am fine with. then at the end when we started to fill out sheets for what scenes we have, music, etc, my body had it. i broke down crying and i could not stop. so i went home... still crying, and went to bed.... still crying.

it was a bad day!

Day 114 & Week 17 results

I would just like to mention that YES i am still wearing the same work out bra top and pants since Day1. they are getting pretty loose. i have gone from a tight 18 (should have been a 20 but i refused to go there) and now i am in a size 14 jeans!!! that is.... i will say 4 sizes!!!  20,18, 16 and now i am in a 14!!! I soooo need some new clothes. Maybe my b-day fairy will get me a gift card, or maybe even Santa.... Hint Hint! lol

Day 113- What Am I Doing?

because of my results i have had a lot of people ask me what i am doing food and exercise wise..... well here it is.
(note- this is not for everyone check with your doc first before going all in to make sure you are healthy enough. everybody is different, so make sure you are ok and get checked first.)

here is what i eat on a daily basis

b-fast
4.5 oz of lean meat (chicken, pork, turkey, burger)
1 slice of whole wheat bread
or1/2 cup rice
or 1/2 c red potato

snack
protein bar (i love Zone Perfect cookie dough or smores bars)
side note: Angela wants me to eat these protein bars called Power Crunch, but wafer cookies make me nauseous. I tried them for a couple months then i has to find an alternative that fit within the perimeters
or protien shake from Max Muscle called High 5 (yummmm) many different flavors
Rule on protien products- 200 cals or less and 12g protien or more

lunch
same as b-fast + non starchie veggie (avoid corn and peas)

snack 2
same as snack 1

dinner
4.5 oz of lean meat (chicken, pork, turkey, burger)
and non starch veggie

ok to have- splenda, truvia, mrs dash or other salt free seasoning, vinigar (check ingredients, some add sodium) wrights liquid smoke, and i use honey mustard- fred meyer or Best foods brand. it is low in cals, sug and salt and tastes yummmm. use very sparingly on bread.

** this plan has no dairy, low in salt, sugar and preservatives. you cook/ prepare your own food so it is good to get on a schedule for shopping and cooking.

you eat to feed you body for nutrition, not emotions. once you can control the emotional eating/cheats and find alternatives it makes everything better and easier to stay on track.

**when i go to gatherings i eat before i go, bring a protien bar and a bag of veggie booty (fred meyer nutrition sec. or trader joes, nutrition store) it is a good snack for when out, and others will like it too.

 for exercise I do:
  • 15 mins-1/2 hr cardio before and after work 5x week
  • training 2x a week
  • 1/2 hr boot camp saturday morning


    oh.... i forgot to add when i go out to eat, if it is not a buffet get everything on the side and choose honey mustard dressing. stay away from dairy based dressings like ranch. when i go to buffets i get a lil ice cream dish and put my dressing in it, that way i can control the amount of dressing i am eating.
at buffets go for only fresh foods.... stuff that didn't come from a can.stuff from a can can have added hidden preservatives like salt. I go for the salad bar and stick to it like glue. i have fresh fruit for desert.

well.... that is pretty much it :)  remember that my weight loss and exercise is monitored by a trained professional and nurse. make sure you check with your doctor before you get into something like this.

Day 112- 50 lbs Gone!!!!

this morning  weighed myself and i weighed.... (drumroll please) 189!!! yay!!! i am in the 180's!!!

after surviving Pig Out in the Park we went grocery shopping then came home and i went fabric & bead shopping for a costume i am making for a show. then i came home, had some dinner, chilled a bit with the fam and then did my usual Saturday night thang- Dance my butt off at the Spotlight! Almost every Saturday night you will find me there dancing on the bar side of the club. last nite there was a dance contest to win tix to next Saturday's Foam party. I already had one, but it was worth a shot. i surprisingly came in 2nd but did not win tix... 2 guys tied for 1st, i could not compete with their moves. splits on the bar and all sorts of crazy moves. i was glad they both won :) But it was like a sauna up there on top of the bar. hot air rises!!! afterward we went outside and BS'd while cooling off in the breeze. i went home not too long after that. i was beat!

when i weighed myself this morning i was expecting 190, because i have been sitting at 191 since last Friday. but when i saw 189 i was shocked and so very happy. a good way to start a Sunday!!!

Day 111- I Survived Pig Out in the Park!!!

Yes, it is true. I Survived Pig Out in the Park!!!

What is Pig Out in the Park you ask?  Well..... i am sure every major city has one and call it by a different name. in Seattle it is called the Bite of Seattle. the difference being that well, it is in Spokane and "pig out" lasts for 6 days (Wednesday-Monday) labor day weekend. there are 50-100 food vendors, plus arts and crafts and music all over the park for people to enjoy while chowing down. needless to say there are no healthy options at an event like this other than fruit kabobs and corn on the cob, but i was not going to even go there or tempt it.

I brought my own food- a chicken sammy (pomegranate vinegar marinated grilled chicken and a slice of whole wheat bread) a bottle of water and a protein bar.

we arrived at about 11am and didn't leave till about 2:30 pm. ran in to some friends while there and they were very impressed by my restraint. i said that i am focused, i brought my own, i am on a budget and if i did go off track i know from past experience i would feel ill with in minutes. it is not worth it to me, i have worked to hard for this to blow it on something so stupid.

the only thing that i could really smell that i liked would be garlic fries... but all the grease, no way!!!! it reminded me of safeco field in Seattle though.

Day 110- Recipe Friday: Pineapple Upside Down Cake

It is Labor day weekend and i am sure there will be BBQ's and camp outs where there is lots of food that you may be weary of eating..... here is something yummy you can make that everyone will love and they will never know the difference!!!


Pineapple Upside Down Cake

  • 3 cups oatmeal, ground to flour in blender or food processor
  • 1 teaspoon nsa baking powder**
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 cup Splenda
  • 12 fresh egg whites
  • 3 cups pineapple chunks
  • 3 cups unsweetened applesauce
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Blend dry ingredients in a medium bowl. Set aside. In a large bowl, beat egg whites until foamy. Then fold the applesauce, pineapple and vanilla extract into the egg whites. With a rubber spatula, blend in the dry ingredients with the egg white mixture. Pour into a 13" x 9" pan that is lined with Reynold's Release Wrap or cooking parchment. Bake in the oven for 50 -60 minutes or until golden on the top. Allow to cool completely in the pan, and then remove the entire cake by lifting it out by the wrap. Slice into individual pieces and store in airtight containers the refrigerator.

Day 109- The Boss

i was the boss to day and will be again tomorrow. it was really hard to get my work that i was suppose to be doing as "the boss" done when i had to do my co-workers work because they thought they could slack off.

It is really hard to work in a corporate company because everything that you say now a days can be taken personally or the wrong way, so you have to go thru the supervisor to cover your but, then after so many times of you going to them about the same problem they tell you to deal with it yourself and when you do you get in trouble in one way or another. example- the person hates/despises and turns others against you.

it is very frustrating.

today i forgot to eat because i was working on my breaks just so i could keep caught up since i was doing what i was supposed to do and then some.  Don't get me wrong.... i did eat, just not as much and very spread out.

i was so very tired when i got home that i just went to bed, after waiting for 2 hrs at the airport for my neighbor. she was very grateful, and i got some sewing some on some costumes.
