Day 50- Happy Independance Day!!!

It is the 4th of July. Independence day! A day when most Americans have the day off to celebrate the Independence of our country from England by blowing off fireworks, spending time with family and friends and you cant forget the BBQ!!!! but it doesn't have to be fattening and full of sugar and sodium. with a lil planning ahead you can celebrate with out compromising your waistline.

  • make your own potato chips (see this past friday's "recipe friday")
  • Bring fresh fruit like watermelon, cantaloupe, strawberries, etc.
  • Drink water, add a lemon slice
  • bring your own food to BBQ- Salmon with Garlic, burgers, steak, ect..... just make sure you are the one putting on the seasonings. 
  • Be sure to say "No Thank You" to those trying to tempt you or feed you. you shouldn't have to explain or feel guilty for not wanting to mess with your great progress.
  • and be sure to tell you BBQ chef what a great job they are doing.... that way they are sure to help you out with your special request. compliments can get you anywhere!!!!
